First of all, my career has been in corrections requiring me to take quarterly and annually weapons training from multiple instructors. Robert Carver was our instructor and was a 10+ on the scale of 1 to 10. The entire day, classroom and range, was filled with knowledge, personal experiences and safety. The classroom was interesting as Rob encouraged discussion and questions and ensured there was clarity in all of his delivery of information. Rob was a very interesting instructor which I thought was due to his years of experiences utilizing weapons on and off work, his wide range of training and the natural ability to capture my attention throughout the day.
The range experience was excellent. Safety, safety, safety, was emphasized and monitored at all times. Multiple demonstrations along with clear verbal commands. As we were on the line, I was impressed with how Rob was watching all of us and weapons were holstered as he spoke with each of us individually to give correction to improve our skills. Rob was totally engaged with each of us personally giving suggestions to elevate our shooting skills and remain safe. Throughout the day Rob referenced the importance of training and encouraged us even after completing the class, to keep practicing, be aware of our surroundings and always maintain our weapons safely at all times.
